The Ultimate Guide to Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Welcome to our blog! Today, we are excited to share a super delicious and healthy homemade peanut butter protein bars recipe with you. These bars are perfect for meal prep and grab-and-go snacks, plus they’re gluten-free and dairy-free. Whether you need a quick snack, a post-workout fuel, or a late-night treat, these protein bars are the perfect solution.

Why Homemade Protein Bars?

Protein bars are a great on-the-go snack, but many store-bought options are packed with artificial ingredients and can be expensive. By making your own protein bars at home, you can control the ingredients, save money, and customize the flavors to your liking. Plus, making these bars requires minimal time and no baking skills, making them a convenient and healthy option.

Benefits of Protein Bars

Protein bars are versatile and can serve multiple purposes, including:

Quick Snack

When you’re short on time and need a quick snack, protein bars are a convenient option. Pair a protein bar with a hard-boiled egg or a piece of fruit for a balanced mini-meal on the go.

Travel Companion

Whether you’re hitting the road or flying, having homemade protein bars on hand can save you from unhealthy airport snacks. Pack a few bars in your bag to ensure you have a nutritious snack wherever you go.

Post-Workout Fuel

After a workout, your body needs a combination of protein, carbs, and healthy fats to recover and refuel. Homemade protein bars are an easy and portable way to get those nutrients in without the mess.

Late-Night Snack

Contrary to popular belief, eating before bed can be beneficial if done right. A balanced protein bar can help stabilize blood sugar levels and prevent nighttime hunger pangs. Keep a batch of these bars in the fridge for a guilt-free late-night snack.

Recipe: Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder
  • 3 oz peanut butter
  • 1 cup oats (ground into flour)
  • 3 oz maple syrup
  • 1 oz almond milk or water
  • 2 oz mini chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Monk fruit (optional)

Instructions

Step One

Grind the oats into a flour in a blender or food processor.

Step Two

Mix the oat flour, protein powder, and sea salt in a bowl.

Step Three

In a separate bowl, combine maple syrup, vanilla, and peanut butter. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, then stir in chocolate chips.

Step Four

Spread the mixture in a baking dish lined with parchment paper and chill in the fridge to set.

Step Five

Melt coconut oil and chocolate, then drizzle over the bars. Chill in the fridge until set.

Step Six

Cut the bars into portions and store in the fridge for up to one week.

How Long Do Homemade Protein Bars Last?

Homemade protein bars can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze the bars for up to six months.
