The Ultimate Cheat Code for Apple Pie: Questified Baked Apples

Forget everything you thought you knew about apples. These cute little Fuji apples just got a major glow-up into something that could totally headline at a bougie five-star restaurant. And thanks to some magical crumble vibes from Quest Apple Pie Protein Bars, this recipe is a seriously delicious snack hack. Prepare to crush your protein goals with the ultimate cheat code for apple pie.

Baked Apples

Yields: 10 servings | Serving Size: 1/2 apple

Calories: 150 | Protein: 4g | Fat: 7g | Net Carb: 15g

Total Carb: 20g | Sugar: 5g

Ingredients

  • 2 Apple Pie Quest Bars
  • 5 Fuji apples
  • 1 tbsp zero-calorie brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and cut the Quest bars into small pieces and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 5 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, place the pieces into a food processor or blender and blend until small crumbles form.
  4. In a bowl, stir together the bar pieces, sweetener, salt, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
  5. Add in the melted butter and combine.
  6. Cut the tops off the apples and use a melon baller to scoop out the center. Fill each apple with the crumble mixture.
  7. Increase the oven heat to 400F, cover the apples with tin foil, and bake for 15-18 minutes.
  8. Serve warm with low-calorie ice cream if desired.
